ORGANIZATIONS

Here are some helpful organizations and resource links to explore.

The American Society for Deaf Children is a long-standing organization supporting language access for all deaf kids.

LEAD-K stands for "Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Kids" and it is a kindergarten readiness campaign to promote early language access for all deaf children.

The Clerc Center provides information and resources for educational programs focused on deaf and hard of hearing children. They have a very helpful list of resources for families.

VL2 does research and education around visual processes, with a specific focus on visual languages and deaf individuals' cognition. They do a great deal of work around applying research to educational approaches, developing assessment tools, and promoting ASL literacy.
